Project Overview
As an experimental brand project, Moon Bear Design Studio developed a new logo and brand identity for a local café and diner called “Galaxy Cafe”. Inspired by hand drawn vintage font designs, Moon Bear drew inspiration from the clean lines and geometric forms to create a new brand identity that is timeless, elegant, playful and modern.
The Challenge
The challenge was to create a logo mark that would echo the handrawn script logo type portion of the logo and flowed in seamlessly overall. The logo also needed to work well and dark and light backgrounds. The initial filled coffee cup version with galaxy art would work well with lighter backgrounds as you can see in the examples below. After digitally experimenting with numerous layouts and style treatments of the coffee cup logo mark the clean line style ended up being a variation of the logo for dark backgrounds.
